Based in Dunkeswell, Devon, we’ve been proudly serving communities across Devon and Somerset since 2012.
Founded by Simon Steer as a sister company to Your Local Logs, Inside Out Buildings was born from a passion for sustainability, craftsmanship and community.
What started as a conversation between two dads at the school gates grew into a thriving business rooted in ethical woodland management and local timber supply.
Our journey began in the Blackdown Hills, managing ancient woodland and supplying ethically sourced hardwood logs. As demand grew, Your Local Logs was formed, delivering over 1,000 tonnes of firewood annually, all sourced within a 50km radius of our yard.
But as the seasons changed, so did our focus. During the quieter months, we saw an opportunity to expand – and that’s when Inside Out Buildings came to life.
We noticed a gap in the market – while sheds and garden buildings were widely available, truly bespoke timber buildings were hard to find. Customers wanted more than off-the-shelf solutions – they wanted custom craftsmanship, tailored to their space and style.
