We often suggest the possibility of adding a veranda to our garden rooms. A summer house with veranda adds another dimension to an outside space, giving shelter from the sun, or protection from the rain. Our weather is fairly unpredictable, and sat in 30+ degrees or the pouring rain isn't for most, but sat shaded from the heat of the day, or staying dry but being at one with the weather is something that most appreciate. Adding a veranda to [...]
We work closely with a company in the North of England, Timber Garden Buildings. They are able to provide us with quality panels to order with a quick turnaround time of usually under four weeks. Although the panels are produced on a larger scale than we are able, each panel is made to measure, and within reason can be tailored to your requirements. Their timber is all FSC certificated, and is either tanalised timber, or treated with a quality based [...]
We have built a wide range of timber cabins - a home form home - across Devon, the South West and beyond.. No two have ever been the same, because that's not what we do. Each one has been built to the customer's layout, taking into account their wishes and needs. The only similarity is that each one is built to the same standard - suitable for 24/7 accommodation. We use construction grade carcassing, waterproof membranes, eco-friendly insulation & soundproofing [...]
Working from home has never been so on trend. Whatever we read, the need to work from home is here to stay. Covid showed us that with all the technology around us, communication has never been easier. What we have found, in talking to many of our customers of bespoke garden offices, having a home office in the home isn't always the answer to working from home. A place to 'commute' to - all be it to the bottom of [...]
Summerhouses for all seasons, or garden rooms help bring a structural element to your outside space while giving you 'room' in which you can make your choices how it is to be used. More than ever, creating a good quality outside space is a less expensive option that moving house to gain a little extra room. For some, it's not about extra room, but just a place to relax, to go to, to read, drink coffee, while away a dark [...]
Our customer came to us wanting a timber outbuilding to replace an old and dilapidated garage at the end of the family garden. The garage was accessed from a service lane at the back of the Victorian property, and as such was no longer used as a garage, but an important access point for furniture and the like, and also created a screen for privacy. The brief was to create a building that would be warm, insulated, to be able [...]

Here at Inside Out Buildings we like to think that we can provide you with a garden room for all seasons that is fit for the purpose that you want and need. Garden rooms and garden studios are so much more than they used to be, and it seems that what was once the preserve of the garden, a timber summerhouse, that our customers want a garden building to be so much more than just a summerhouse. We build our [...]
Timber Cabins & the Caravan Act We have built a few timber cabins that fall under the Caravan Act - and although we are not an expert in planning legislation and the legalities that involve the Caravan Act, once the decision has been made to build under the Caravan Act, we can certainly build you a timber cabin to comply. You may ask why not just site a caravan? Well these things are a personal choice. Immediately what comes to [...]
